HUMRA MANIFESTO
Is it possible to change the world using vivid images and good ideas?
Can cartoons be an instrument to improve life in our respective societies?
We believe the answer is YES!
The "HUMRA" project was born from the desire for peace and to reinvoke the importance of universal humanistic values.
We count on a new creative approach and on sharing of ideas and resources between (at first glance) different fields such as culture, art, human rights, education and teaching.
We create cartoons that offer an opportunity to reflect together on the human per se, on his/her rights and freedoms. Our animations are artworks yet at the same time, promising and innovative tools for the discussion of important and complex issues faced by society today: how do we actually build peace? What are rights? How do we prevent violations of human rights and human dignity? Who should enforce them? And, in fact, who and what is "the human"?
Evidently, the term "human rights" raises more questions than answers.
HUMRA animations provide an opportunity not only to reflect on these topics, but also to create, to experience, to feel, to pass on the stories oneself and, as a result, to form a new attitude to the issues raised.
Our team brings together representatives of cultural, human rights and educational organizations from Germany, Georgia, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. The educational network includes experienced coaches and teachers skilled in conducting an interesting and engaging dialogue on human rights with different groups in different languages.
We are open to cooperation and are also looking for people who are ready to work with us, to create new cartoons, to conduct educational and awareness raising activities for youth around the world.
